Rock Your Heart Out for the American Heart AssociationPaducah’s 20/30 Group and Rotaract to host a Guitar Hero Contest on Saturday, September 6 on the Paducah Riverfront Wilson Stage. Express your inner rock star at the first-ever Rock Your Heart Out Guitar Hero contest! Co-hosted by The Paducah 20/30 Group and Paducah Rotaract, the contest will be Saturday, September 6 from 5-10pm at the Paducah Riverfront Wilson Stage. The single elimination contest will pay $750 to 1st place and $250 to 2nd place. Trophies and bragging rights will also be given to the top two! Winners will be based on the game’s scoring. The Groupie Award will be given to the Rocker who collects the most donations from their Groupies, aka: friends and family. The Rocker who raises the highest amount of Groupie donations wins the new Guitar Hero: World Tour Edition, a $200 value to be out 10/27/08. Admission to watch is FREE! Rock Your Heart Out concert t-shirts will be available for pre-order and at the event for only $10. Food and drinks will also be available to buy. After the contest will be a street dance with the mixing-styles of DJ Chris Tyree with Sound Wave Productions! Registration to compete is $20/person thru September 1. Register now by calling 270-527-6156. Registration will also be available at the door between 5-6pm for $30/person. Registration will close early if the maximum of 200 competitors is reached. Must be at least 13-years-old to enter. All proceeds benefit the Paducah Heart Walk. Registration donations are tax deductible. DOC Talks the exciting, hip way for the 20/30 crowd to discuss current hot topics and get their voice heard! Each is scheduled for the 3rd Tuesday at 7pm at the McCracken County Library.
Tuesday, July 15- Rollin’ on the River! Julie Harris, Executive Director of the River Heritage Museum and Steve Doolittle withe the City of Paducah will present on the museum’s expansion plan.
Tuesday, August 19- Townhall debate on current topics with moderator Matt Ryan, newsreporter for local Bristol radio stations. Tuesday, September 16- Mary Thorsby, CEO www.ilistpaducah.com, leads a discussion on the emerging role and exciting power of online and personalized media in our community.
